Joel Griffith

Head Instructor/Camp Director

Coach Joel Griffith was born and raised in the Chicago land area. Growing up there, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in higher-level hockey programs. Through those experiences and his exposure to influential coaches, he quickly solidified his love for the game and his inspiration for sharing and coaching the game. Coach Joel concluded his playing experience while attending Northern Arizona University.
After concluding his collegiate experience and pursuing a professional career in Project Management, starting his own family brought Coach Joel back to the hockey world. Over the last 15 years, Coach Joel has performed many different roles at local and State levels, hoping to share his insights, abilities, and experiences with players of every age and skill level. Coach Joel’s passion is bringing the best of his hockey experiences to small towns USA, like his own in Salmon, ID. “Every player deserves to be treated and coached like the AAA player they can become.” Coach Joel is a Level 4 USA hockey certified coach and has been a player evaluator in MAHA and IAHA Player Development Camps. As a former Executive Committee member within IAHA, he has most recently turned his attention to co-commissioning the State’s first High School. He is currently on the coaching staff within the CDA Boise Compete program. Coach Joel’s energy and passion for the community, young players, and hockey is tireless. At RMHS, we are excited to have him on staff and return to one of his former communities in Flagstaff.
