Coach Cody grew up in Davenport, Iowa, and played his youth hockey with the Quad City Hockey Association.   During this time, he played for various Select/All-Star Teams in Iowa.  After High School, Cody played for the Valencia Vipers in the WSHL.  After his brief Junior Hockey career, Cody played Division 1 ACHA Division for Iowa State University.  Cody earned his Community Sport and Recreation Management degree at Iowa State University.
 
Cody is currently the Executive Director for West Elk Hockey Association in Gunnison, Colorado, and works closely with the Mountain Selects AA Program and Mountain Militia.   Before his time with West Elk Hockey Association, Cody managed Ice Programs at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena in Breckenridge, Colorado. He also served as a PeeWee Coach for Summit Youth Hockey.  Cody has also held various leadership positions in the sport of lacrosse in Colorado.
