Drew Akins
RMHS Head Instructor/Head RMHS Selects Coach
Originally from Minnetonka, MN, Drew played high school hockey where he was a team captain and all-conference player. His next stop was junior hockey in the NAHL and USHL before accepting a scholarship to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, where he again was team captain, WCHA champion, and a member of the WCHA All-Academic Team. Following his NCAA career, Drew went on to play professionally for five seasons in the ECHL, CHL, SPHL and European professional leagues. Throughout his playing career, Drew also worked as a hockey instructor, coach, and tryout evaluator in the off-season for a number of different organizations ranging from youth to junior level players. After hanging up the skates in 2015, Drew accepted a job in Jackson Hole, Wyoming as Director of Player and Coach Development for Jackson Youth Hockey from 2016-2020. During that time, Drew also served as head coach for Jackson’s Bantam A team. Currently, Drew is the Head Coach and General Manager of the Rocky Mountain Wolves AA travel teams.
